(Brookville, IN) – The Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department has purchased one-and-a-half acres on U.S. 52 in Brookville on which the agency’s EMS will build headquarters for their ambulance service in Franklin County.
The purchase on the south edge of Brookville includes two lots between the town’s sewage plant and a gas station.
Letts has been operating from several locations around Franklin County since taking over EMS service on May 1 of this year.
It was last December when county commissioners voted 2-1 to award the EMS contract to Letts, which ended Franklin County EMS’ 50-year run of providing life squad service to residents.
The price tag for the land purchase has not been disclosed.
