Leo J. Moster

Leo J. Moster, age 89 of Sunman, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born June 11, 1932 in Franklin County Indiana, he is the son of Emma (Nee: Obermeyer) and John Moster. He served in the army during the Korean War and was a member of the St. Leon American Legion Post #464. He married JoAnn Kramer June 28, 1958 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Cincinnati. A lifelong farmer, Leo also worked at Cincinnati Gas & Electric for 31 years.

A man of simple wants, Leo cherished family time. In addition to his family and grandchildren, he looked forward to being with his siblings and extended family at reunions and get togethers where you could be sure of two things. A deck of cards was always handy for a spirited game of Euchre or 500 and some good food would be enjoyed. Leo also liked following the Reds, occasional trips to the boat to try his luck, doing the Jumble puzzle in the daily paper and traveling. Two of he and JoAnn’s favorites were visits to Hawaii and Las Vegas. He also enjoyed keeping in touch with old army buddies.

Leo is survived by his wife JoAnn; daughters Jenny (Bill) Paetow of Palos Heights, Illinois, Julie (Jeff) Williams of Indianapolis; sons Jeff (Maria) Moster of Cincinnati, Jim (Renee) Moster of Hamilton, Ohio; sister Beata Moloney of Edgewood, Kentucky; brother Anthony Moster of Morris; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by sisters Anna Workman, Emma Moloney, Catherine Frey and brothers Bernard, Albert, Walter and Rev. Humbert Moster.
