Leland Wray Taylor, 83, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2025.
Born on February 13, 1942, in Albany, Kentucky, Leland was the son of Balam R. and Anna O. (Piercey) Taylor. He was a 1960 graduate of Greensburg High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Leland was a skilled and respected cobbler, dedicating his life to crafting and repairing shoes across Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Georgia. His workmanship and dedication were admired by many.
He was a man of unwavering character, known for his deep love for the Lord, his family, and his country. A hard worker with a sharp sense of humor, Leland brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a devoted member of the First Church of God and carried his faith with him throughout his life.
Leland is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Mark) Turner; step-son, Scott (Shannon) Johnson; grandchildren, Aidan Puls and Gavin Puls; and sisters, Sylvia (Arnold) Waters and Frances (Bill) Flint; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Taylor.
A private family gathering was held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home to celebrate Leland’s life and share cherished memories. He was laid to rest at Albany Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky, alongside his family.
