Leising to serve as State Fair Advisory committee chair

State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg)

Statehouse — State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) will serve as chair of the Indiana State Fair Advisory Committee and a non-voting member of the Indiana State Fair Commission, and as a member of several other study committees in preparation for the 2023 legislative session.

Leising’s other assignments include the 21st Century Energy Policy Development Task Force and the Medicaid Advisory Committee.

“The Indiana State Fair continues to be a hub for residents across the state to celebrate the Spirit of Indiana and learn about our shared history in agriculture,” Leising said. “I am looking forward to discussing needs and issues pertaining to the Fair’s continued success, and reviewing the reliability of electrical generation, renewables, coal, and gas in the 21st Century Energy Policy Development Task Force.”

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
