STATEHOUSE — State Senator Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) met with area Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) representatives on Thursday at the Statehouse.
Six of the seven counties Leising represents had REMC Chief Executive Officers attend the Senate Committee on Utilities meeting to hear debate on Senate Bill 146, which Leising authored.
The bill would amend Indiana statute concerning attachments of equipment by cable operators to electric distribution poles that are owned or controlled by rural electric cooperatives such as REMC.
SB 146 will be heard again in committee on January 20 for amendments and a vote.
