Garrett Yoon threw two touchdown passes to Dahya Patel and ran for two other scores as the Lawrenceburg Tigers downed the Batesville Bulldogs 34-13 in an EIAC 3A Division battle at The Pit Friday night.
According to this report from Tom Snape, Yoon put the Tigers on the board first at the 6:11 mark in the first quarter with a 1-yard quarterback sneak. After a Ryan Hinthorne extra point, LHS was on top 7-0.
Yoon hooked up with Patel for a 55-yard TD strike with 10:41 to go in the second stanza. The kick was good as the Orange and Black went up 14-0.
Batesville answered when QB Travis Lecher connect with Bryson Bonelli for a 79-yard touchdown pass with 10:17 to go before the half. Braiden Foster added the extra point, and it was now 14-7 game still in favor of LHS.
With 6:27 to go in the third, Yoon ran nine yards for his second scoring jaunt of the night. The extra point was blocked, but Lawrenceburg expanded its lead to 20-7.
Twenty seconds later, Lecher hit Bonell for another TD pass, this one going for 69 yards. The two-point conversion try was no good as the Blue and White trailed by only one score again, 20-13.
From there, the Tigers imposed their will and stretched their lead. Yoon hit Patel with a 5-yard scoring pass and Hinthorne added the extra point with 55 seconds to go in the third. It was Lawrenceburg 27, Batesville 13.
The Tigers capped off the scoring with 7:38 remaining in the fourth when Jake Pierce toted the mail two yards. The kick was good. LHS notched its fifth straight win to improve to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the EIAC 3A Division.
Batesville dropped its second game in a row and falls to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the EIAC 3A grouping.
