Laurel Man Arrested on Drug Charges

(Laurel, IN) – A Laurel man was arrested early Friday following a joint investigation conducted by authorities in Franklin and Fayette counties.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says deputies from both agencies were looking for a wanted man at a home on Neff Street in Laurel, and located 46-year-old Jeffrey Horn.

Deputies say they saw suspected illegal substances and related items in plain view, and arrested Horn without incident.

Horn was taken to the Franklin County Security Center where he is being held on preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine; Possession of a Syringe (both Level 6 felonies), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).

The investigation was conducted by Sergeant Kyle Hartman of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from Deputy Alex VanWinkle and Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies Joe Becker and Nick Mustin.

The case has been submitted to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for review and formal charging determination.
