Larry Wayne Chitwood was born to Kern and Alberta Chitwood in Cincinnati, Ohio, Larry is survived by his only son Brad Chitwood, daughter in law Charlette Chitwood and granddaughters Madison and Samantha Chitwood, his sister Donna Rosenberger and brother in law Mick, his sister Patty Lingg and brother in law Mark, his sister Pamela Chitwood, his sister Nina Singleton and late brother in law Brant, his sister Ruby Race and brother in law Larry and many nieces, nephews and extended family all of whom Larry deeply loved.
In Larry’s youth growing up in Brookville, Indiana he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, imitating Elvis Presley and watching over his sisters. Larry moved from Brookville, Indiana to sunny California at the age of 19 to begin his 30+ year career in the construction industry and start a family. Family was very important to him. Larry took pride in being the big brother to five sisters and did so until the day he died. He cherished the time spent with his son and granddaughters and anyone fortunate to receive them looked forward to his frequent FaceTime calls.
Larry’s last years were spent enjoying retirement with his cats in Arizona where his love for animals and philanthropy flourished. Larry regularly donated to various charitable organizations for animals, the disabled and any person or place in need of help. His generosity extended to his loved ones and his neighbors in his community of Casa Grande, Arizona.
Graveside Services will be held on June 21, 2025 at 10am at Maple Grove Cemetery 8126 Maple Grove Rd. Brookville, IN 47012 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Brookville volunteer Fire Dept. 900 Mill St. Brookville, IN 47012.
