Connersville defeated Greensburg 5-1 on the Lady Spartans’ Senior Night. Jayci Allen had a hat trick while single goals were scored by Paige Dafler and Kiley Smith and Jayci Allen with three goals. Eden Judd had six saves.
Greensburg coach Ryan Morlan reported the first 15 minutes of the game was a battle. Connersville lit the scoreboard up first and managed to quickly score another, leaving the Pirates down 2-0. Captain Macey Smith settled a point for the Pirates off an assist from Natalie Kalinowski. It was 2-1 Connersville at the half.
The Spartans did not waste any time to start the second half. They registered their third goal and followed that up with two more. The Pirates were unable to answer back as the Spartans won 5-1.
“Pirate Keeper Ella Lowe saw 30 shots on goal,” said Morlan. “This is Lowe’s fourth game in a row with over 30 shots per game. Seniors Emily Million and Scotlynn Reinhold and freshman Genevieve Smith also had stops keeping points off the Spartan scoreboard.”
