Lady Pirates EIAC hoops win among Thursday results

The following are girls basketball recaps for Thursday, December 9. There may be updates, so please check back.

Greensburg got an EIAC win over South Dearborn 55-24.

The Lady Pirates jumped out to an 18-6 first quarter lead and held a 37-12 advantage at the half.  Greensburg scored 26 points off 31 South Dearborn turnovers.

Leah West led the Lady Buccaneers with 19 points.  She also contributed six rebounds, four steals and three assists.  Mylie Wilkison netted 15 points and five boards.  Carlee Adams recorded a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Natalie Rupp’s seven points and six by Emily Elliott were tops for the Knights.

South Ripley squashed Shawe 39-13.

Gracie Gunter posted 14 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Raiders.  Rachel Meyer followed with nine points, five assists and three swipes in the ORVC victory.

South Ripley had 12 assists on 14 made field goals.

South Decatur fell to Hauser 61-39.

For the Jets in the MHC win, Madelyn Poe led all scorers with 20 points, Kyliegh Parrott put in 13 and Hannah Taylor tallied nine.

For the Cougars, Kiley Best scored 12, Kirsten Meece contributed 10 and Makayla Somers added nine.

Other area finals…

  • Southwestern Hanover lost by one at New Washington 37-36.
  • Switzerland County was stopped by Austin 63-30.
