Lady Cardinals Basketball Results

The 5th Grade Lady Cardinals hosted the Mt. Carmel Vikings.  With a final score of 24-8 the Cards are now 4-0 for the season.

We were able once again to get all the girls playing a basket or two.  Points for the girls were Hailee Weisenbach with 6pts, Jersey Trenkamp, Maggie Tekulve, and Aubrey Baker all with 4pts each, and Grace Copley, MaryKara Wanstrath, and Ava Becker all bringing 2pts each.  We played a great game while being snowed out for a week.

Our defense worked hard, and we worked really hard at running the offensive plays and mixing it up.  Nice job ladies.

We play again Tuesday Night at home against Greendale.  Go Cards!

The St. Louis Lady Cardinals improved to 4-0 on the seas with a 23-6 win versus Mount Carmel.

The game started out as a defensive battle as both teams played to a 0-0 1st quarter. After that, the Lady Cardinals started to hit some jump shots as they were able to pull out to a 14-4 halftime lead. The Lady Cardinals continued the tough defensive into the second half only allowing 2 points.

The Lady Cardinals were lead in scoring by Belle Young with 8 points and Gina Grote with 7 points. Riley Siegel added 4 tough points and also gather in rebounds and a couple of steals. The Lady Cardinals will play their final home game of the season as

The St. Louis 7th Grade Girls Basketball team finally got their season started on Monday Night and picked up the win against Sunman Dearborn’s B squad by a final score of 29 to 14.

The first quarter ended in an 8 to 8 tie. The defense took over and the Cardinals outscored the Trojans 21 to 6 over the next 3 quarters. St. Louis had a balanced scoring attack with 5 out of 7 players finding the scoring column.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Cora Roth with 9 points followed by Rachel Suttmann with 8. Bridget Lohmueller added 6 points and Karsyn Watson finished with 4. Isabel Imel rounded out the scoring with a bucket.

St. Louis 8th grade got their season underway Monday night as well. However, they were shut down by the Trojans losing by a final score of 40 to 12.

Covid-19 and the recent weather have wreaked havoc on the Cardinals Jr. High Girls Basketball season. Sunman Dearborn’s B squad overpowered the Cardinals with stingy pressure defense.

The 8th grade was led in scoring with 4 points each by Lucy Abplanalp and McKenzie Maple. Emily Schebler and Ainsley Sipples added 2 points each.

The 7th grade will go again on Wednesday night against St. Lawrence and both squads will face South Dearborn on Thursday.
