Four quick goals in the first seven minutes set the tone for the visiting Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Pirates did not help their cause by allowing an own goal and getting called for two fouls inside the 18 yard box giving Batesville penalty kick opportunities. The halftime score was 8-0.
In stretches the Lady Pirates put constant pressure on the Batesville runs and scoring opportunities to force wide shots and the defensive line forced 3 offside traps. Emily Lowe made 17 saves on the night while freshmen Emily Rosales and Kaelyn Spears recorded the only shots on goal for home squad. Good play came in stretches and showed throughout the second half.
The Lady Pirates will be in action Saturday at noon when they host Oldenburg. The boy’s squads from each school will start the action at 10 AM. The loss drops the Lady Pirates to 0-5 and 0-2 in EIAC play.
