The Batesville Lady Bulldog Track team traveled to Franklin County last night to compete in Sectionals. To automatically advance to Regional competition athletes must place in the top 3 in their event, or be the next 4 fastest times of the 4 Sectionalsthat feed into our Regionals.I am excited to say that Batesville will have 5 individuals and all 3 relays advancing to Regional competition next Tuesday at Franklin Community High School. Batesville also had an individual Sectional Champion, Haylee Harmeyer, in the 400m dash as she beat the field by over a second and finally sprinting just under the 1 minute mark at 59.99! Congratulations Haylee!
Other individuals advancing to Regionals next Tuesday are, Sarah Poltrack-1600m run (2nd), Emma Gausman-800m run (3rd), Mary Poltrack-3200m run (3rd), and Stephanie Nobbe-200m dash (although she placed 4th at our sectional, her time was fast enough to advance her). Members of the 3 relays advancing are: 4 x 800 relay(2nd)-Liz Loichinger, Emma Gausman, Sarah Poltrack, and Haylee Harmeyer, 4 x 100m relay(3rd)-Alison Muckerheide, Sophie Meadows, Morgan Meyer and Stephanie Nobbe, and the 4 x 400m relay(2nd)-Alison Muckerheide, Madeleine Robben, Britany Venis and Haylee Harmeyer.

Overall as a team, the Bulldogs cam in 3rd out of the 13 team Sectional competition. East Central dominated the field scoring an astounding 186.5 points. Greensburg took 2nd with 119 to Batesville’s-86 points. Other places were: 4th-Franklin County-75,
5th-Oldenburg Academy and South Dearborn-34, 7th-Norht Decatur-24, 8th-Jac-Cen-Del-16, 9th-Milan-13.5, 10th South Ripley-13, 11th-Rising Sun-11, 12th-Lawrenceburg-10 and 13th-Soiuth Decatur-2.
Other scorers for the Bulldogs to help claim the 3rd place finish were: 4th-Stephanie Nobbe-100m dash; 5th-Gabby Gibbs-High Jump, 6th-Liz Loichinger-3200m run, Sarah Poltrack-800m run, Haylee Harmeyer-long jump and Stephanie Nobbe-pole vault
7th-Morgan Meyer-high jump, 8th-Madeleine Robben-400m dash and Melanie Werner-pole vault.
Despite the heat and wind at the begining of the meet we did have some personal records set: Gabby Gibbs-High Jump, Katie Bohman-Discus, Haylee Harmeyer-Long Jump, 400m dash, Emma Gausman-800m run, Liz Loichinger-4 x 800m split, Britany Venis-4 x 400m split.
