Kurtis William Arkenberg, 47, formerly of Milan, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Center at Centennial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born Wednesday, June 30, 1971, to Amy Arkenberg Nance and Franklin W. Arkenberg in Beech Grove, Indiana.
After graduating from Franklin High School, Kurt proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Kurt took the first step toward his lifelong dream of becoming a professional umpire by attending the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School in Florida. Kurt began his professional umpiring career in the Northwoods League and continued there until illness prevented him from continuing.
Kurt is survived by wife Jenni, son Adrion Arkenberg of Chicago, Illinois, daughters Jordynn Porter and Zoey Arkenberg of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his parents Amy Nance of Greenwood and Frank and Becky Arkenberg of Milan, Indiana, sister Kilynn Arkenberg of Franklin, Indiana, brothers: Kristopher (Davlenn) Arkenberg of New Orleans, Louisiana, Matthew (Rachel) Arkenberg of Lebanon, Indiana and David Arkenberg of Milan, Indiana.
