Kenneth William “Ken” Knowlton, 77, Milan

Kenneth William Knowlton, 77, of Milan, IN passed away on Wednesday December 24, 2025, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.

Ken was born on October 15, 1948, at Whitlatch Clinic in Milan, IN. He lived a life marked by service, strength, & devotion to his loved ones.

Ken proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, where he served with the 170th assault helicopter company as a pilot. Over the course of his service, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Air Medal with “V” Device and 32 Oak Leaf Clusters, recognizing repeated acts of heroism and meritorious achievement while flying combat missions under hazardous conditions.

After returning from Vietnam, Ken earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and later retired as a plant manager for American Electric Power in Lawrenceburg, IN.

Ken was a devoted husband of almost 41 years and is survived by his wife, Gail (Stutler) Knowlton. He is also survived by his son Levi (Natalia) Knowlton of Pine village, IN, daughter Brittney (Michael) Evans of Milledgeville, GA, grandchildren Reid & Sutton Evans and Charlotte Knowlton, brother Keith (Josie) Knowlton of Valdosta, GA, and many cousins, nieces, & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents William & Alverta Knowlton and brother Kevin Knowlton.

A memorial to honor Ken’s life & military service will be held from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan, IN. Services will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Rom Holt officiating. In lieu of flowers, Ken’s family requests donations can be made in his honor to the Milan American Legion Post 235.
