Kenneth James LaVelle, 69, of Patriot, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born June 10, 1948 in Batesville, IN, son of the late Vernon LaVelle and Dorothy LaVelle.
He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Kenneth was a self employed siding contractor.
Kenneth was a graduate of Patriot High School. He was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion and was a very patriotic veteran. He enjoyed gold mining and was a member of the American Gold Prospectors. Kenneth also loved farming, he had Registered Paint and Registered Appaloosa Horses as well as miniature donkeys. He also like hunting, even going Elk hunting in Montana. Time with his family was his greatest joy and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are wife, Lila LaVelle of Patriot, IN; step sons, James (Carrie) Hess of Johnstown, OH, Ray Hess of Patriot, IN, Brian (Lori) Lovins of Houston, TX; sisters, Anita LaVelle of Vevay, IN, Patricia Walton of FL; grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Chase, Lane, Samuel, Henry and Walter; great grandchildren, Josie Rose and Ryker Creed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received Thursday, March 1, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tommy Beatley officiating.
Interment will immediately follow services. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
