Kenneth G. “Ken” “Bergy” Bergman, 91, Milan

Kenneth G. “Ken” “Bergy” Bergman, 91, of Milan passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Ken was born on Thursday, February 15, 1934, in Milan; son of Edward and Dorothy (Behlmer) Bergman. Ken married the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” (Asche) Bergman, on September 25, 1958, and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2023. Ken worked as a kettle operator at Monsanto for 33 years. He enjoyed watching local sports teams such as the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and IU basketball. He also enjoyed going to the casino, camping, and fishing. Most of all Ken loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ken will be missed by his sons Doug (Jackie) Bergman of Milan, Chris (Lora) Bergman of Milan, and Steven (Wendy) Bergman of Milan; daughters Kendra Roberts of Cincinnati and Melissa (Jeff) Ollman of Milan; sisters Phyllis Rhodes of Indianapolis and Joanne Hehe of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Dorothy Bergman; wife Virginia “Ginny” Bergman; son Phillip “Mitch” Bergman; brothers Raymond, Don, and Dale Bergman; sister Mildred Huneke; daughter-in-law Debbie Bergman; and nieces Glenna Asche and Roberta Bergman.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Ken from 10 AM-12 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Adams Lutheran Church in Batesville; 9767 N Adams Church Rd, Batesville, IN 47006. A service will immediately follow at 12 PM with Pastor Mark Booster officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Ken to Ripley County Humane Society, or American Autism Association.
