Karen Kay Huffner Rodgers

Karen Kay Huffner Rodgers, 68, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday January 5, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

She was born December 8, 1950 in Rising Sun, Indiana, daughter of the late Lawrence Huffner and Jo Ann (Mathews) Huffner.

Karen was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years and showed a true compassionate and giving spirit in the care that she gave her patients and coworkers. Karen was a very supportive wife ,mom, grandma and nana. Her caring and fun side showed up in the many family activities that they all did together. She loved to spend time with family, shopping, watching movies, and joking around. Karen especially enjoyed board games with the family and had a very competitive nature. Scrabble was her favorite. She loved to share and loved to laugh. She loved attending countless sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She was also was an avid animal lover, Xavier Basketball fan and enjoyed reading. Her family was her world and she will be greatly missed.

Karen is survived by her children, Gregory (Michelle) Rodgers of Australia, David W. (Jennifer) Rodgers Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL, Tina (J’aime) Dobies of Louisville, KY; siblings, Vicki (Robbin) Thompson of Aurora, IN, Jerry (Ruby) Huffner of Lawrenceburg, IN, Sharon (Chip) Farrell of Lawrenceburg, IN; grandchildren, Joshua, Ella, Noah and Luke Rodgers .

She was preceded in death by parents, and recently by her loving husband of 51 years, David W. Rodgers, Sr. and brother, Mark Huffner.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 12, 2019, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home, at 6:00 pm with Mark Tanner officiating.
