(Batesville, IN) – Margaret Mary Health and the Ripley County Community Foundation recently announced Calley Kaiser as this year’s recipient of the Doris A. Brelage Nursing Scholarship.
Kaiser graduated from Batesville High School in 2022 and is pursuing her nursing degree from the IU School of Nursing.
She received the $1,550 scholarship last week.
The scholarship was established in memory of Doris Brelage shortly after the nurse and EMS lost her life in an accident in 2008.
Brelege provided care to Southeastern Indiana residents at Margaret Mary Health for 37 years.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must be a Batesville High School graduate; be nominated by a practicing nurse at Margaret Mary Health, and have been admitted to an accredited nursing school or be an LPN going on to an RN program at an accredited nursing school.
