The JV Lady Bulldogs headed to Connersville on Saturday to take on the Lady Spartans in a double header matchup. The Lady Bulldogs prevailed by taking two on the day!
Game 1
The Batesville bats came alive as they were able to score in 4 out of 7 innings to prevail 10-3 in the first game. The Lady Bulldogs collected 15 hits in the game. Sophie Myers led the way going 4-4 with 3 singles and a double. She drove in 2 runs while crossing the plate once. Calli Fletcher, Samantha Kessens, Natasha Fowler, and Kaite Mobley all had multiple hits in the game. Georgia Mertz and Emma Livers each chipped in with one a piece.
Mobley started on the mound, pitching an excellent game, and earned the win for the Lady Bulldogs. She allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Game 2
The bats stayed hot for Batesville as they were able to collect 13 hits on their way to an 11-8 victory. They were able to score 5 of the 6 innings they were up to bat. Athena Mitchell, Renee Lecher, and Claire Saner led the Bulldogs with multiple hits in the game. The trio combined to drive in 6 runs and scored 3 times. Mertz, Fletcher, Kessens, Mobley, Fowler, Kennedy Westrick, and Rylee Scripture all collected a hit a piece in the game.
Lecher was in the circle for Batesville and collected the win. She went seven innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one.
The JV Lady Bulldogs will next be in action at home on Tuesday evening as they take on the visiting South Dearborn Lady Knights. First pitch will be immediately following the varsity game.
The Batesville JV Lady Bulldogs lost a back and forth game with The Greensburg Lady Pirates Friday Evening by the score of 17-15. Both teams had their opportunities but it was the Lady Pirates that capitalized on timely hitting to pull out the win.
The Lady Bulldogs had a great night at the plate as they collected 17 hits. Katie Mobley led the team going 4-5 at the dish with three singles and a double while scoring twice. Georgia Mertz, Athena Mitchell, Kennedy Westrick, and Claire Saner all had multiple hits while crossing the plate a combined 7 times. Calli Fletcher, Samantha Kessens, Natasha Fowler, and Kailey Weberding each chipped in with one hit apiece.
Mobley started in the circle for Batesville. She allowed 15 hits and 17 runs over seven innings, striking out ten.
The JV Lady Bulldogs will next be in action Saturday as they head to Connersville to play a doubleheader. The first pitch is at 11:00 am.
