Junior high girls basketball, boys wrestling recaps for February 15

The following are girls junior high girls basketball recaps and one boys wrestling recap for February 15.

The St. Louis fifth grade beat South Dearborn 29-10.  Aggressive defense led to a lot of easy buckets on the offensive end and the team shared the ball well en route to their third straight win.

Bella Watson and Maci Smith led the team with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The St. Lou sixth grade won a very low scoring 11-9 battle against the Squires.  The Redbirds struggled to hit open looks but stayed composed to get the win.

Ava Becker’s three points were a Cardinal high while for other scored two each.

North Decatur’s seventh grade downed the Jets of Hauser 23-8.

The Chargers Sophie Rohls headlined the scoring with eight points and Sarah Moeller added seven.

It was a much closer eighth grade game, but ND got by Hauser 36-34.

Jo Whitaker’s 22 points were a game high.  Charger teammate Kendall Hostkoetter was next with six.

Batesville’s seventh grade rolled to a 54-11 victory over South Decatur.  BMS recorded 23 steals.

Offensively,  Sydney Campbell was the top Dog with 10 points.  Mimi Smith scored eight.  Ten different players contributed to the scoring.

The BMS eighth grade also had a big win against the Cougars, 49-5.  The defense was outstanding and the Bulldogs collected 15 offensive rebounds.

Grace Walter scored a team-high 17 points, Jayne Lamping logged a dozen and Reesa Zimmerman tallied eight.

And in one junior high wrestling meet, Batesville fell to Milan 60-48.  Scoring pins for BMS were Carson Weiler, Matthew Maher and Dylan Comer.
