Junior high boys/girls basketball recaps from February 20 and 21

The following our junior high boys/girls basketball recaps from February 20 and 21.

The SEIClones traveling boys eighth grade area basketball team won the Southern Randolph Spring Shootout in Lynn, Indiana.  The Clones beat Southern Randolph, Union City twice and then Knightstown 51-23 in the championship.

Team members include Trenten Luers, Cayden Drake, Caleb mohr, Chase Youngman, Nick Watterson and Trevor Castner.

In junior high girls basketball, the St. Louis seventh grade won their eighth game in nine outings following a 38-8 victory over Sunman-Dearborn.  The Cardinals got out to a quick 10-1 start.

Gina Grote led the Redbirds with 14 points and Belle Young had 13.

The St. Louis fifth grade battled a pesky and physical St. Lawrence team and carded a 22-15 victory.  The key in the Cardinal W was an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter which saw Maci Smith score six of the points.  Team defense in the closing quarter was stifling.

North Decatur’s seventh grade fell hard to Waldron 41-4.  Sarah Moeller had all four points for the Chargers.

The ND eighth had a closer game but also fell to the Mohawks 26-18.  Jo Whitaker scored 11 of the Chargers 18 points.

We thank everyone who contributed to the recaps.
