Judy Sharon Stenger, age 71, of Brookville, Indiana died Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana following a lengthy illness.
Born May 22, 1953 in Jackson County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Willie & Dolores (Gay) Abner. On February 13, 1988 she was united in marriage to Steve Stenger, and he survives.
Judy was retired from the former Ford/Visteon in Connersville where she had worked for many years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookville, and the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club. In her leisure time she enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, crocheting and collecting McCoy pottery.
Besides Steve, her loving husband of over 36 years, survivors include four children, Renae Lauer of Greenville, South Carolina, Lydia Lockhart of Connersville, Indiana, William Rader of Lexington, Kentucky and Jenny Stenger of Brookville, Indiana; one grandchild, Morgan Ross; two brothers, Ray Boles and Paul (Trisha) Abner all of Sand Gap, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Harrison; a brother, Ricky Abner; a daughter Vicki Stenger and a granddaughter, Rosie Lockhart.
Family & friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Mike Holman and Rev. Leslie Washnock will officiate the Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 1:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
