Joseph “Joey” Puhalski

Joseph “Joey” S. Puhalski, 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:21 PM, at UC Health Campus and a day before his Dad’s birthday.  With him wanting to be a donor, Joey still shined by saving someone’s life, approximately 30-40 people.  He was born to Joseph F. and Marlene (Poffinbarger) Puhalski in Freemont, Michigan on Wednesday, September 2, 1970.

Joey had multiple nicknames which included “Jibby”, and “Polish Hammer”.  Joey worked at LaRosa’s in Lawrenceburg for 17 years and New Horizons in Batesville for 28 years.  He was a member of the Bright Christian Church and was a Special Olympics participant.   “Polish Hammer” enjoyed bowling on Wednesday nights with the Special Olympics group and Friendship bowling. He was an avid Bengals Fan, loved to travel, liked to go to the movies, shopping, loved music (especially country western) and eating barbeque ribs.  Joey had so many friends, he was loved by all. Family said Joey was a people person.  He was a collector of many things: such as movies, hats, and Tee- shirts.  He participated in several Special Olympic events such as: bowling, track and field, basketball, cornhole, volleyball, weightlifting, flag football, and fire tuck pulls.

Joey is survived by his sister Brenda (Jeff) Hendrickson of Bright; brother Mark (Donna) Puhalski of Aurora; niece Amanda Fox and great-niece Madison Fox both of Sunman; Mother Marlene (Frank) Panno of Harrison, Ohio and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A visitation for family and friends from 3 – 5 PM Thursday, March 25, 2021 will be held at the Bright Christian Church, 24427 State Line Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025.  A Celebration of Joey’s life will be held at 5 PM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Bright Christian Church.  Memorials may be given in honor of Joey to Bright Christian Church.
