John William “Jack” Wallace, of Greensburg, was born on April 21, 1955, in Watsonville, California, the son of John William and Frances Booth Wallace. He married Anita Eckstein on February 23, 2013 in Greensburg. Jack was an accomplished guitarist, and will be remembered by many musicians and friends across the country. As a master certified chef, he was well known on both the Atlantic and Pacific coastlines; serving as executive chef at Fr. Martin’s Ashley and teaching culinary studies in local community colleges. Jack never met a stranger and could entertain with the best. On Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the age of 61, Jack passed away at I.U. Health in Indianapolis.
Those surviving who will honor Jack’s memory include his loving wife, Anita Wallace; son, Dr. Matthew Wallace of St. Louis, MO; step children, Nicholas (Jessica) Bohl of Indianapolis, and Chelsea Bohl of Greensburg; sisters, Elaine (Manuel) Ribeiro of Watsonville, CA, and Mary Bassi of Chico, CA; nieces, Lisa (Mike) Johnson , and Andrea (Alex) Sorger, and great-nephew, Andrew Sorger. Also surviving is Kristina (Greg) Stotler of Baltimore, MD. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Wallace.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will begin at 1 p.m.
