John “Jack” W. Kruetzkamp, age 86, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Kenwood, Ohio.
Born the son of John and Evangeline (Spare) Kruetzkamp on January 24, 1938, at Good Sam Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, he attended grade school at Blessed Sacrament, and received his high school diploma in 1956 at Covington Catholic. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering in 1960 from the University of Dayton and then received his MBA from Xavier University in 1964. Jack valued education deeply and instilled that same appreciation in his children, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
Jack began his working journey at the young age of 15 selling and delivering beer and liquor, a role he balanced with his studies throughout high school and college. He later founded National Marketing and Engineering, developing it into the thriving business it is today. A dedicated member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jack was a passionate model train enthusiast and collector. He was a pilot and had a deep love for travel, cherishing annual family vacations that continued until the day he passed. His love for adventure and community was evident in his lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts, both as a child and as an adult.
Jack is survived by his children, Jill Kruetzkamp, Jeffrey “Jeff” Kruetzkamp, and Jerry Kruetzkamp. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn (Bonaventure) Cahill and his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (nee Owens) Kruetzkamp. Also surviving are his nine grandchildren, Amanda Obermeyer, Andrew (Dustyn) Obermeyer, Michael (Christina) Kruetzkamp, Alex Kruetzkamp, Cara Kruetzkamp, Tiffany (Justin) Burton, Justin Kruetzkamp, Adam Kruetzkamp, and Noah Kruetzkamp as well as one great-granddaughter, Kinley Obermeyer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann (Kuchenbuch) Kruetzkamp, his son, Jim “Jimah” Kruetzkamp, and parents, John and Evangeline Kruetzkamp.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Paul Ruwe officiating, all at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in White Oak, Ohio, with a Celebration of Life at White Oak Athletic Club, 3649 Whiteoak Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.
