John F. Jordan Jr. 86, of Versailles, IN passed away Sunday July 22, 2018 at his home. He was born Sunday May 1, 1932 in Bexar County, Texas the son of John Sr. and Edith (Howard) Jordan. John served his country in the U.S. Navy retiring on April 1, 2000. He was an education coordinator for the Department of Defense through the U.S. Navy, getting his doctorates in education. John was a member of the Holman Christian Union Church and attended Moores Hill Church of Christ. He was also a member of the American Legion in Batesville, and the F&AM Lodge # 668 in Batesville. John enjoyed reading books, listening to classical music, traveling, camping, walking and hiking, and an avid sports fan.
John is survived by his wife: Gloria Jordan of Versailles; sons: Wayne (Ginger) Jordan of Cleveland , TN; stepsons: David Sr.(Laura) McIntosh of Versailles; Andy (Sherri) McIntosh of Milan; James Jr. (Jennifer) McIntosh of Chicago, IL; stepdaughter: Becky (Jeff) Holt of Milan; brother: Phil Jordan of Tyler, TX; 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 daughters: Virginia Whitt, Joy Taylor and Janie Hill.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday July 26, 2018 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Tito Pel officiating with full military honors by Milan American Legion Post # 235. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Shriner’s Hospital.
