John Dudley, age 76, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by his family on May 6, 2024. John was born to Leroy and
Mildred (McHugh) Dudley on February 1, 1948, in Batesville, Indiana. He
married Sandra Clair and together they raised 4 children. John served his
country in the Air Force in Vietnam. After the war he obtained his private
pilot license, commercial pilot license, instrument rating, and instructor
rating and he also received his diploma in drafting and worked for Hill-Rom
for many years. In addition to working at Hill-Rom, he owned and operated
Dudley Insurance Agency. John was an active member at St. Nicolas
Catholic Church and was also a 46-year member of St. Leon American
Legion Post #464. In his free time, John enjoyed travelling, flying, going
fishing, going mushroom hunting, and spending time enjoying the outdoors
and nature.
Those surviving who will cherish John’s memory include his wife of 47
years, Sandra; 3 children, Kathy (Greg) Disbro of Aurora, Frankie (Roggie)
Harrison of Sunman, and Jay (Julie) Dudley of Sunman; 14 grandchildren;
16 great grandchildren; as well as one sister, Cheryl Wilhelm. John was
preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Kyle Dudley; 2
granddaughters, Mariah and Krystal; as well as 2 siblings, Ronnie Dudley
and Janet Wessler.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 13 from 4 until 7pm at
Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Mass of
Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Nicholas Catholic
Church, 6461 E. St. Nicholas Dr., Sunman. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.

Cancer Research, USO, Tunnels to Towers Foundation or Food For the
