John A. Helton, age 67, of Brookville, Indiana died Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his residence in Brookville following a lengthy illness.
Born November 6, 1956 in Hamilton, Ohio, he was one of four children born to the late Alvin & Bobbi Jean (Surguy) Helton. He was united in marriage to the former Kathy Vest on September 11, 1976, and she preceded him in death on April 12, 2013.
He was retired from General Electric Aircraft Engines in Evendale where he had been employed for 40 years.
In his leisure time he enjoyed being with his family; hunting, fishing, and tinkering on cars.
Survivors include four children, Sherri ‘Nikki’ Helton of Brookville, Indiana, Amy Flood of Brookville, Indiana, Kellie Kramer of Sevierville, Tennessee and John Caleb Helton of Milan, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue Usher of Richmond, Indiana and a brother, Rocky Helton of Oxford, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Kathy, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Powell.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Pastor Mike Holman, of First Baptist Church of Brookville, will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 20, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
