Tonight, we have a game and a quarter of basketball coming up for you on WRBI…  well, a little less…  more like 3 quarters of a quarter, just under 6 minutes.

That’s because we’ll start the evening of high school hoops with that game that was suspended last week, when a fan took ill in the stands.  So tonight, the East Central and South Dearborn boys will resume their game right where it left off, with 5:53 on the clock, South Dearborn leading 56 to 41, and East Central throwing the ball in from out of bounds.  And if you didn’t hear the day after the original game, that fan who needed some help and was conscious and talking when taken out of the gym on a stretcher, was said to be doing well.  A South Dearborn trainer is credited with leaping into action, to administer CPR.  We’ll come on the air about 5:45 this evening, and the inbound pass will be made at 6, on WRBI.

Tonight’s full game will be a girls’ matchup between Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley.  The Raiders are going to hold senior night festivities between their JV and varsity contests, so we’ll take the air a little later than usual, about 7:30, looking to tip the game off around 7:45, with Rob Moorhead and Rob Lafary here on the Sports Voice.

Other girls’ games this evening include Greensburg at New Palestine, Hauser visiting North Decatur, Milan hosting Oldenburg Academy, Shelbyville at East Central, Franklin County hosting South Dearborn, and South Decatur visiting Batesville.  Get all the scores first thing in the morning, right here on WRBIRadio.com, and of course on 103.9 FM.

Middle school hoops have some of the stars of tomorrow shining pretty brightly, indeed…  the St. Nicholas 7th-grade girls have reportedly launched their season at an undefeated 4 & 0, beating Batesville, South Dearborn, North Decatur, and South Ripley so far.  Their leading scorer’s averaging more than 18 points per game.  Also impressive, the St. Nicholas 8th-graders, with a 3 & 1 record so far on their season.

Lots of men’s college basketball games on tap tonight…  National Number 2 Purdue hosts Michigan, Xavier’s in Omaha to take on 17th-ranked Creighton, Ohio State’s visiting Nebraska, Butler’s in DC to face Georgetown, and the 9 & 9 Ball State Cards drop in on the 2 & 15 Bulls of the University of Buffalo.

Tonight in the NBA, the Pacers host the Denver Nuggets.
