Our next event is the latest in regular-season boys’ high school basketball, as the Batesville Bulldogs host the Lions from Rushville.  The game tips off at the usual 7:30 tonight, and our pregame coverage comes to you beginning at 7:15.  The ‘Dawgs are 12 & 5 on the season, and 2 & 2 in the EIAC, which puts them in 5th place.  While Batesville has an overall winning record, the Lions seem to be going through an “off” year…  But you know anything can happen in a “neighborly” kind of game, so things could get interesting.  Again, join us tonight beginning at 7:15.

Tomorrow, we’ll also have a boys’ regular-season contest for you, as 10 & 8 South Dearborn visits 10 & 7 South Ripley.  Sounds interesting…  but it’s a non-league game, the Knights in 4th place in the EIAC, and the Raiders 3rd in the ORVC.  They’ll also tip around 7:30 tomorrow, and as always, our broadcast crew will bring you coverage about 15 minutes before that.

And our plans are coming together for Saturday…  Again boys’ regular-season action, as Batesville hosts East Central for an early-afternoon match, tipping at 1:30.  But that’ll be a huge maximum coverage Saturday…  with local girls battling in regional tournament action.  We’ll open around 3:45 that afternoon for the planned 4:00 tip between the North Decatur Chargers, who are 18 & 6 on the season, and the Miners from Linton-Stockton, who’ve gone 20 & 6 so far.  It’ll be played at West Washington High, kind of near Campbellsburg, but also near Salem.  And while we’re calling that game, we’ll also be getting updates on how Greensburg’s playoff game with Scottsburg is going in Charlestown.

And we won’t be done after 2 games live–  the 3rd tips at 7 Saturday evening, with regional play between the 20 & 5 Jac-Cen-Del Eagles, and the 19 & 7 Eels, yes, the slippery sea snakes, of Eminence High.  They’ll be squaring off at Southwestern in Shelby County, tipping off at 7 Saturday night, again about 15 minutes of pregame coverage beforehand.

So if you’re going to be in the crowds for any of those games, be sure to take us along– you can follow our coverage live, right there in the stands, on WRBIradio.com and the new WRBI app!  Download it right now, either from the App Store or Google Play.

No men’s college hoops planned in the area tonight–  but in the pros, the Pacers are back in action, hosting the Warriors at Gainbridge.  Tyrese Hamilton continues to collect those All-Star votes, and he’s already been named a starter for the game that comes up a week from Sunday.

And in case you missed this, the Reds announced Wednesday that they’re going to be part of the new “Realizing the Dream” initiative.  At the head of that program, none other than civil rights leader Martin Luther King the 3rd, and his wife Arndrea.  They helped the Reds make the announcement at Great American Ballpark.  They’re hoping to expand King’s late father’s vision of better freedom, justice, and equality for everyone.
