Gerard “Jerry” Lee Werner, 60 years old of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A native of St. Leon, he graduated from East Central High School and Versailles Vocational School with a certification in auto mechanics. Tinkering with small engines was still one of his main hobbies. Jerry was an avid collector of everything Allis Chalmers, filling his house with many die cast models. He found joy in the local tractor shows and loved taking pictures of the many different tractors on display. Jerry was also a huge fan of the Lost in Space mini-series and the orange 1969 Dodge Charger aka General Lee from The Dukes of Hazard. Two other favorites of Jerry’s were his appetite for fried chicken and eating frog legs from his favorite Chinese restaurant in Lawrenceburg. Above all else Jerry was a simple, loving, and caring man who loved spending time with his family.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his siblings Anthony (Ty) Werner, Art (Lynne) Werner, Rick (Brenda) Werner, Anita (Charles) Smith and sister-in-law Darlene Werner; numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Al & Annie, brothers Alvin & Andy, and nephews Johnny, Elliott, and lil’ Andrew.
Services honoring Jerry will be held on Thursday, November 9 at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00pm – 4:00pm with a prayer service beginning at 4:00pm.
