Jerry D. Casey, 81, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, IN.
He was born June 28, 1935 in Wilmington, IN, son of the late Elmo Eugene Casey and Jennie Skidmore Casey.
Jerry worked in transportation for Fernald, retiring after over 42 years of service. He loved to refinish furniture and took great pride in doing a thorough job including bottoms of furniture. In his younger years he loved to fish. He enjoyed watching sports and gardening. He especially liked growing tomatoes. He was an animal lover, both cats and dogs. Jerry was a jokester and had a dry sense of humor. You knew he liked you whenever he gave you a “hard time.” He loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Burlage Casey of Aurora, IN; children, Dena (Rick) Cochran of Rising Sun, Jerry (Jeanne) Casey of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Lyle Cochran, Ashley (Shane) Cochran Turner, Tim Black and Lisa Black; great grandchildren, Peyton & Lane Turner and Amari & Jayden Joyner. He was preceded in death by parents, Elmo Eugene Casey and Jennie Skidmore Casey, and brother, Richard Casey.
Friends will be received Tuesday, October 25, 2016, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Wednesday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana .
