Jerome Nathan Hovis, age 55, of West Harrison, Indiana passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Born April 27, 1969, in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Harold Hovis and Frances “Sue” (Brown) Cochran.
Jerome, a graduate from East Central High School, worked for Merchants Security, attended Revival Chapel in New Trenton, Indiana, where he enjoyed helping with the sound board, was proud of his four years he served as a volunteer firefighter, and the time he spent volunteering at Dearborn County Hospital.
Survived by his brother Dave (Wilma) Hovis, nephew David (Savannah) Hovis, great-nephew Peyton, and great-nieces Hannah and Paisley. Also survived by his stepfather, Tom Cochran, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Sue Cochran and Harold Hovis, niece Tiffany Hovis, cousins Eddie, Dale, Terry, Steve, Mike, Jimmy, Roger, Rick, and Jeff, his aunts Jeannette, Retha, Doris, and Chris, and uncles Eddie, Jr, Charlie, and Roy. Grandparents Ruby and Pearl Brown, and RW and Bessie Hovis.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 12:30 P.M., with Rev. Mike Brewer officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at New Haven Cemetery Harrison, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family in care of the funeral home.
