(Jennings County, IN) – A Jennings County man lost his life in a single vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.
Indiana State Police at the Versailles Post say the initial investigation indicated a car driven by 20-year-old Tyler J. Wells of Commiskey was eastbound on County Road 400 South near State Road 3 shortly after 4 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of his vehicle.
It left the south side of the road before striking a tree and coming to a stop.
Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.
The intersection of State Road 3 and County Road 400 South was closed for nearly four hours for the crash investigation and cleanup.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
ISP and the Versailles Post Crash Reconstruction Team received assistance from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, the Vernon and Lovett Township fire departments, Jennings County EMS and the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.
