Jean “Kay” Kathleen Taylor, of Brookville, was born on August 9, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter to Francis Dismas and Mary Murphy Weber. While working for the New York Central Railroad in Indianapolis, she met her future husband, Jeremy Taylor and they were married on May 14, 1955 in Indianapolis. After raising all 7 of her children, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Miami University of Ohio. Kay was socially very active in her community. Volunteering with St. Michaels Church, where she was a member, St. Michael School, Oldenburg Academy, and an extensive array of other organizations was a passion. On Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the age of 84, Kay passed away peacefully at her residence.
Those surviving who will cherish Kay’s memory include her husband; Jeremy Taylor; children, William W. (Marcella Stasa) Taylor of Upton, MA, Neal F. (Larkspur Morton) Taylor of Montville, ME, Kent L. (Sara) Taylor of Cary, NC, Andrew C. Taylor of Oxford, OH, Mary B. (Frank Weber) Taylor of Brookville, Gordon P. Taylor of Brookville, and Jeremy (Lisa) Taylor, also of Brookville. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and two brothers, Richard Weber and James Weber of Costa Rica. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Stephen and Jerome Weber.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The Rosary Service will begin at 3:15 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial is on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
