Jane (Wurtz) Wood, 73, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 12, 1952 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. Jane was the daughter of the late Malcom and Rosemary Wurtz.
Jane was a graduate of Sunman High School. She was known for her kindness, quick wit, and generous spirit. She spent 35+ years working for Ohio Casualty Insurance, where she was respected by all who knew her.
Outside of work, Jane had a passion for crocheting, being a soccer mom, spending time with family and friends, and lastly going to the casino with her friend Bobbi.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of 49 years; her daughters, Carrie Wood of Austin, TX, and Amy Wood of Las Vegas, NV; her siblings Tim (Marcy) Wurtz, Connie (Kevin Melburn) Napier, and Renee (Joe) Simon; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who saw her as a pillar of strength and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Jimmy and Bill Wood, grandparents, and her sister Kathy Back.
Visitation will be January 2, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home Celebration Center (360 Commerce Center Dr., Franklin, OH 45005). Service will follow after visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart Foundation, or donor’s choice.
