Jane K. Selm, age 83, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday evening May 27, 2024 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana following a lengthy illness.
Born August 18, 1940 in Oak Forest, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Ambrose ‘Tim’ & Edna (Meyer) Bruns. She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County, Indiana.
Jane was retired, having worked for many years as a cook at St. Michael Catholic School in Brookville. She had also volunteered in the gift shop at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, and at the Franklin County Free Store. She was a long time board member of the Franklin County W.A.T.C.H. Council Inc. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include a son, Joe (Connie) Selm of Brookville, Indiana; three grandsons, Tim Selm, Tyler Selm, Travis Selm; two sisters, Alice (Glen) Stang of Brookville, Indiana and Linda Worm of Chaska, Minnesota; three brothers, Ivan (Joyce) Bruns, Ronald (Bonnie) Bruns, and Cecil (Paula) Bruns all of Brookville, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey E. Selm who died June 19, 1994; a daughter, Julie L. Selm who died August 24, 2020; two brothers, David Bruns and Lester Bruns; as well as her brother-in-law, Jim Worm.
Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Vincent Lampert will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 4, 2024; 10:00 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Burial will then follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville
