BATESVILLE, Ind. — Mrs. Jan Narwold, a 2nd-grade teacher at St. Louis Catholic School, was recently awarded the Saint Theodora Guerin Excellence in Education Award.
The award is the highest honor for teachers from the Archdiocese.
The school says that St. Theodora is remembered as a woman of prayer, an educator, a caregiver, a leader, a champion of justice, and is also known for her courage and determination.
School officials say these are characteristics of Mrs. Narwold as well.
Mrs. Gina Fleming, from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, was on hand to present the award to Narwold.
The award was given during Catholic Schools Week.
