James Theodore Glascock, age 93, of Cedar Grove, Indiana died Friday, March 7, 2025.
Born April 12, 1931 in Whitewater Township, Franklin County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Joseph N. & Edna Katherine (Baither) Glascock. He was a graduate of the former Whitewater High School, and went on to graduate from Morehead State University with his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts, and Indiana State University with his Master’s Degree in Education. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
On September 5, 1952 he and the former Nellie Margaret (Peggy) Fugate were united in marriage and she survives.
Jim was retired, having taught school for many years. He then got involved in real estate, becoming a real estate broker for several years. In his leisure time he enjoyed staying active playing sports and competing in the Senior Olympics, and Senior Games in Basketball. He helped his team clinch several championships. He was an accomplished wood worker, having made duck & deer calls. He enjoyed taking care of his property, and was a HAM Radio Operator whose call sign was WD9TWJ.
Besides Peggy, his loving wife of over 72 years, survivors include two daughters, Jill (Bill) Dyer of Atlanta, Georgia and Sally Denise (Glenn) Dasher of Huntsville, Alabama; three grandchildren, John (Lauren) Dasher of Birmingham, Alabama, Katherine E. Dyer of Santa Clara, California and Sarah (Sam) Dyer Jones of Atlanta Georgia; two sisters, Patricia (the late, Renos) Roark of Greenwood, Indiana and Ellen (Frank) Siemens of Renwick, Iowa, a brother, Robert (Becky) Glassic of Irvine, California;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph N. ‘Joe’ Glascock.
