James E. Busteed, 82, of Versailles passed away at 7:45am, Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his home. He was born in Milan on October 8, 1938 the son of Thomas and Freida Kinnett Busteed. He was married to Kitty Jones on January 20, 1961 and his wife of 60 years survives. Other survivors include two sons James L. Busteed (Betty Schebler) of Versailles, and Dr. Timothy (Jennie) Busteed of Morehead City, North Carolina; one daughter Tammy Johnson of Bloomington; four grandchildren Mackenzie (Becky) Johnson of Marion, Grayson, Katherine and Nolan Busteed of Morehead City; one great-grandson Cooper Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom, and his son-in-law Frank Johnson. Mr. Busteed was a 1956 graduate of Versailles High School. He was a 38 year employee of Seagrams in Lawrenceburg where he worked in shipping. Jim was a 60 year member of the Dabney Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be given to the building fund of the Dabney Baptist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
