Jackie Fox, 72, of St. Leon

Jacqueline Marie Knecht Fox, 72 years old of St. Leon, passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, December 26, 2023. A familiar and friendly face around town, many remember Jackie most recently working at Alig’s Shell in St. Leon. She loved working at Shell because it allowed her to socialize and customers loved her because she was so friendly, easy to talk to and a good listener. For 19 years, Jackie was a teacher’s assistant at Sunman Elementary where she impacted the lives of countless students with her kindness and compassion. A hero for the underdog, Jackie would seek out those sitting alone or struggling and brightened their day with her warm smile and gentle spirit.

As an adoring wife and mother to six children, Jackie created memories that they will always cherish. Some of their favorite memories were made in Tennessee when they traveled to Dale Hollow Lake. For over 40 years the family would enjoy boating and camping adventures, making forever friends with families doing the same thing. At home, Jackie was the biggest cheerleader for her kids and grandchildren’s sporting events, but when it came to playing cards and cornhole she showed them no mercy and loved to beat them. She enjoyed scratch offs and going to the casino with Robert and found herself still playing even when he had lost his money for the day. Bingo was a favorite past time for Jackie, whether she was playing or working the games at the American Legion in Brookville.

Jacqueline will be deeply missed by Robert, her husband of 55 years; her children Scott (Janeta) Fox, Josh (Robin) Fox, Robin (Don) Day, Andrea (Courtney) Barker, Amanda (James) Starks, and Adam (Julie) Fox; grandchildren Nicole & Caitlyn Fox, Brooke, Breanne, Faith, & Hope Fox, Brittany & Zachary Day, Isaac, Mason, Cameron & Addison Barker, Rhyan & Blake Starks, William, Wyatt & Weston Fox; siblings Marsha (Joel) Nathan, David (Shelly) Knecht, Steve (Barb) Knecht, Jim (Carol) Fox and sister-in-law Connie Knecht. She is preceded in death by her brother Dale Knecht and parents William and Fern Baney Knecht.

Services for Jackie will be held on Tuesday, January 2 at the Parish Life Center of All Saints Parish. Rosary will begin at 8:30am and visitation will continue until 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. For those unable to attend, Mass will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/user/aspweeklyhomily.
