ISP Looking for Man Accused of Shooting Orange County Deputy

(Orange County, IN) – Indiana State Police have issued a statewide Blue Alert for a man accused of shooting an Orange County sheriff’s deputy.

Thirty-three-year-old Austin Schepers is considered armed and dangerous.

Schepers is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, brown hair with hazel eyes, with a tattoo of a cross under his left eye, along with multiple tattoos around his neck

He was last seen early Friday morning in the West Baden area driving a silver 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with a plate number CRT921.

State Police say the vehicle has been located in Orange County, but Schepers remains at large.

The deputy he is accused of shooting is expected to recover.

ISP has not released details on what led to the shooting, but they say if you see Schephers, call 9-1-1 or the Bloomington State Police post.
