ISP investigating two deadly officer-involved shootings

Jennings County/Mitchell, IN — Indiana State Police are investigating a pair of deadly officer-involved shootings over the weekend.

ISP detectives from the Versailles Post say 29-year-old Devin Lark of Seymour fled on foot from Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies trying to serve an arrest warrant Friday afternoon.

Investigators say he showed a gun during the chase and refused to drop it when ordered.

A deputy fired a single shot and hit Lark.

He was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital where he later died.

None of the Jennings County deputies were injured.

A suspect is dead and two officers are recovering after an exchange of gunfire in Mitchell early Sunday morning.

State troopers say 29-year-old Anthony Richmond of West Baden Springs fired several rounds at a Lawrence County deputy and a Mitchell police officer during a traffic stop.

The officers returned fire and struck Richmond several times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
