Indiana State Police partners with DEA for 22nd Drug Take Back Day

STATEWIDE — Indiana State Police are partnering with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency for the 22nd Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 30.

Troopers say you can drop off any unused, unwanted, or expired medications between 10 am and 2 pm Saturday at ISP posts statewide, except for the Toll Road and Lowell posts.

Locally, you can dispose of meds at the Versailles post.

The program is for liquid and pill medications.

Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be taken.

New or used needles WILL NOT be accepted for disposal.

State police say that old medications left in medicine cabinets are susceptible to being stolen, misused, and abused.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends.

The drop off service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
