Increase in COVID-19 in Decatur County could mean “Red”

State County Metric map as of November 4.

Greensburg, IN — According to Sean Durbin with the Decatur County Health Department, Decatur County is expected to be “Red” on the State County Metrics map with it is updated at noon on Wednesday. Durbin stated this is expected due to the increase of over 150 new cases in the last week in the County.

Under the red category, it is recommended that schools go to elearning only, restaurants reduce business to 50% capacity, long term care facilities close to all visitors, and bar seating close. At this time, the only actually order from the Decatur County Health Department is that schools remain closed to students. Masks are strongly encouraged for all citizens to continue wearing as well as remote working when possible.

Durbin noted that these are recommendations and that the only order to be enforced currently is for the schools to be closed to students.
