Huntersville Road to be paved starting Monday

Batesville, IN — The Franklin County Highway Department has announced that rolling road closures will continue on Huntersville Road. The culvert replacement is completed and now crews will begin the work to asphalt the road.

Starting today, FCHD crews will be asphalt surfacing the culverts between Hamburg and Vote Road. According to Matt Allen with the FCHD the culverts needed time to settle before they could be covered. They ask citizens to please slow down when driving over the new work, as it is not safe to drive at normal speeds. Vehicles caught speeding or driving around barricades on to private property will have their information sent to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Outside contractor Rohe Asphalt will be bringing in equipment starting Monday to begin work and the road will remain closed until completed. Access will be open to homes in the area and all work is weather dependent
