HS boys basketball recaps from February 23 and 24

The following are boys high school basketball recaps for Febraury 23 and 24.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Jac-Cen-Del defeated the Warriors of Covenant Christian 57-55 in overtime. The Eagles were down seven at the first stop and three at intermission.  Jac took a three-point lead after the third quarter but the Warriors forced overtime tied at 51.  The Eagles outscored CC by two in the extra session.

Top scorers for the Nesters were Wyatt Day with 22, Devin Grieshop with 15 and Caleb Simon with nine.

The JCD reserves fell in another close game, 51-50.  For the Eagle JV, Caleb White had 14 points and Gavin Groth scored 12.

Oldenburg fell by five at home to Lawrenceburg, 37-32.  The difference in scoring was a 12-7 advantage for the Tigers in the first quarter.

LHS was led in scoring by Logan Ahaus with 11 points. Jackson Bobo was a board shy of a double double with 10 points and nine rebounds.  Logan Rohrer had a half dozen points and rebounds to match.

CJ Grote’s 10 points were best for Oldenburg. He also collected seven caroms.  Nick Folop tallied nine points, eight rebounds and four assists.  Frank Moorman added seven points.

While the Twisters had a better overall shooting night making 14-of-34 compared to the Tigers 12-of-49, Lawrenceburg outscored Oldenburg 21-9 from the arc and 6-1 at the line.  Oldenburg lost the turnover margin by 10.
