Campbell grew up in Greensburg and graduated from North Decatur High School. Her academic background combines business and library administration. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marian College, now Marian University, and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Indiana State University. While working part time in a library setting, she later completed a master’s degree in Library Science.
Her career includes serving as Director of Educational Development at the Jennings County Public Library, followed by a tenure as director of the Tyson Library in Versailles, where she oversaw daily operations and programming. Campbell moved to Greenfield while her daughter attended the University of Indianapolis and plans to return to Greensburg in 2026.
Campbell learned of the opening through former library director Vanessa Martin, who previously worked with her and contacted her when the position became available.
As she prepares to take on the role, Campbell is aware of potential financial challenges expected in 2027 due to changes in library funding approved by the Indiana legislature. She has indicated confidence in working with the library’s board of directors to address those challenges.
One initiative under consideration is the creation of a library of things, allowing patrons to borrow practical items instead of purchasing them. The proposed collection could include items such as walkers, stepladders, canning supplies and power washers for short-term use.
Campbell is also collaborating with the board on planned property improvements, including the installation of a swing set designed for people with special needs near the patio area and the completion of the library’s front sidewalk. Community involvement and service are expected to be central themes of her leadership.
The public is invited to visit the Greensburg Decatur County Public Library at 1110 E. Main Street to meet the new director and welcome her to the position.
