Los Angeles, CA — A dream came true Saturday night when Batesville native Bryan Hoeing made his big league debut for the Miami Marlins.

The right-hander wearing #93 was the starting pitcher for the Marlins against the Dodgers in Los Angeles after he was called up from Miami’s Jacksonville, Florida Triple-A affiliate to take the place of the injured Garrett Braxton on the big league roster.

Hoeing is a 2015 Batesville High School graduate, where he also starred in basketball for the Bulldogs of Coach Aaron Garrett.

He was drafted by the Marlins in the seventh round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft out of the University of Louisville.
